International Reporting Portal to Report Child Sexual Abuse Material Found Online

Have you come across a website, image or video online which contains or might contain child sexual abuse? Now you can report them through “Report Online Child Sexual Abuse” linked on the home page of www.childprotection.gov.lk

National Child Protection Authority is Introducing IWF Sri Lanka Portal in Collaboration with Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) UK for taking down online child sexual imagery.

This reporting portal managed by the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). It is a mechanism for Sri Lanka for reporting and taking down online child sexual abuse imagery. The IWF is an independent, non-profit charitable organization in the UK. They work in partnership with the internet and tech industries, global law enforcement, governments, the education sector, charities and non-profits across the world and the public to minimize, disrupt and stop the availability of child sexual abuse images and videos hosted anywhere in the world.

Each report processed by IWF is manually assessed by their highly trained analysts in using technical internet tracing techniques to locate criminal content, to trace and determine the geographical location of the server on which the content is hosted at the time of assessment. This enables them to pass accurate details to the relevant police agency or take action themselves in partnership with the company whose services are being abused.

This project was funded by Save the Children Sri Lanka & Child Fund Sri Lanka.
